What Is A Logbook Here?

A logbook is where your contacts are filed. Every contact you work is filed in a logbook, and each logbook logs under a single callsign.

Who Creates My First One?

You do, during the guided setup. QSLShack fills in what it can from what you have already told it, so in most cases you are checking the answers rather than typing them.

QSLShack does not create logbooks for you. Every logbook on your account exists because you made it.

How Do I Get A Second Logbook?

Add another callsign first, then create a logbook for it. Every logbook belongs to one of your callsigns, so the callsign comes first and the logbook follows it.

A callsign may have its own logbook. It does not have to, and one is not made for it automatically. You create it when you want it.

Callsigns and logbooks are both added in your settings.

Why Is It One Logbook Per Callsign?

Because that is how the rest of the platform stays unambiguous. A QSO logged under a callsign is signed, confirmed and sent to QRZ or LoTW as that callsign. If one book held contacts from several callsigns, every one of those steps would need you to say which callsign applied, on every contact.

Keeping them separate means you say it once, when you create the book.

What Do I Set On A Logbook?

Its name, which is yours to choose. The callsign is already fixed by the book itself.

Its station location, which becomes the default for contacts logged in it.

What Happens If I Delete A Logbook?

Its contacts go with it. QSLShack tells you how many contacts and how many connected services a book has before you confirm, so the decision is made with the numbers in front of you.
