What Does The QRZ Connection Do?

It keeps a QRZ logbook and a QSLShack logbook carrying the same contacts. QSLShack can send your QSOs to QRZ, bring QRZ's contacts into your log, or both. Each direction is a switch you control, and either can be left off.

What Do I Need Before I Start?

A QRZ subscription and the API key for the logbook you want to connect.

QRZ issues a separate API key for each of your QRZ logbooks. The key is on that logbook's own settings page at QRZ, and you have to be logged in to QRZ to see it. Copy the key belonging to the logbook you intend to connect, not one belonging to a different logbook.

How Do I Connect It?

Go to Account, then Integrations, then the QRZ tab. Add a connection, paste the API key, and choose which QSLShack logbook it belongs to.

One connection joins one QRZ logbook to one QSLShack logbook. If you hold several callsigns and keep several QRZ logbooks, you add a connection for each.

What Are The Switches?

Send this logbook's QSOs to QRZ automatically. With this on, QSOs you log here are sent to QRZ for you. With it off, nothing is sent automatically and you push by hand with the Push to QRZ button on the QRZ page.

Check this QRZ logbook for new contacts automatically. With this on, QSLShack checks QRZ for contacts you logged elsewhere and brings them in.

Bring this logbook's QRZ contacts in as private. Contacts brought in from QRZ are visible on your public logbook unless you switch this on. It does not change QSOs already in your log.

What Is The QRZ Date Range?

Each QRZ logbook accepts QSOs only inside a date range that you set at QRZ. QSLShack records that range when you connect, and shows it on the connection.

QRZ rejects any QSO dated outside its own range. If contacts are refused and the dates look correct to you, check the range on the logbook at QRZ first.

How Do I Bring My Existing QRZ Contacts In?

Use Pull from QRZ. It brings all the QSOs from your QRZ logbook into the QSLShack logbook it is connected to.

You preview and approve what it found before anything is added. Nothing enters your log until you approve it.

What Happens If The Same QSO Differs In Both Places?

QSLShack does not overwrite one copy with the other. It lists the QSO on your QRZ Exception Report with the conflicting information, and you decide which copy is right.

What Happens If I Remove The Connection?

Removing a connection deletes the QRZ key stored for it. QSOs you have already imported stay in your logbook. To connect again you paste the key from QRZ once more.
